It was here in East Sacramento that Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson created a neighborhood restaurant for all of Sacramento to enjoy. It first opened its' doors in 1955 and closed in 1996 after a fire.

We opened Sweetwater in the same tradition, offering a place where Sacramentan's could enjoy superb food and drinks in a comfortable neighborhood location, a place where our guests feel invited and welcome. We pride ourselves in offering fresh ingredients and California grown produce when possible.
